“Jasmine Tremaine is a witch who can’t stay out of torubel. Nikolai Gregorivich is a vampire cope on the trail of a serial killer. The sizzling love affair between Jazz and Nik has been on-again, off-again for about 300 years–mostly off, lately. But now Nick needs Jazz’s help, and while Jazz and Nick ry to figure out their own hearts and resist their increasing attraction, they must steer clear of a maniacal killer with super-supernatural powers. They are surrounded by a hilarious cast of oddball paranormal characters including Norma, the chain-smoking ghost who haunts Jazz’s sports car; Dweezil, her ghoul of a boss; and Fluff and Puff, a pair of bunny slippers with sharp teeth and short tempers (watch your ankles)!”

50 Ways to Hex Your Lover is more of a paranormal romantic suspense book rather than paranormal romance. It’s cute, lighthearted, and perfect for both a long drive from Chicago to Minneapolis and the time just around Halloween. The characters are enjoyable–Jazz drinks out of a “Wicked” mug–and I really liked her fireball reactions with Nick.

Unfortunately, I started to lose interest in the “maniacal killer” and who’s killing the vampires. And Wisdom doesn’t expand the evil character as well as she could have through out the book (I didn’t understand his motives other than, well, escaping death). However she does a nice job of making him truly loathsome when he finally does enter the picture at the end of the book.

All in all, a nice read that entertained me.

Found you through the Bookworms Carnival. I’ve been meaning to start this series forever. Based off this review, I can’t tell whether you would recommend that I start it or not.

@ Jacqueline: It’s been so long, but I would. If nothing else, Jazz is hysterical, and I enjoyed her fights with Nik.
